4 min read · Updated October 2026 · Yono Games Hub

In rummy the aim is to finish with as few points as possible. Points are counted on the cards you have not arranged into valid groups.

Rules below describe the most common Indian 13-card format. Apps can change details such as drop points, point caps and joker rules, so always check the in-app rules.

Card values

Card Points
Ace, King, Queen, Jack 10 each
2 to 10 Face value
Jokers (printed and wild) 0

Typical penalties

  • First drop (before your first draw): about 20 points.
  • Middle drop (after drawing at least once): about 40 points.
  • Maximum per hand: commonly capped at 80 points.
  • Wrong declaration: usually the full 80 points.

When there is no pure sequence

If you have no pure sequence when someone declares, all your cards are usually counted, even ones in other groups.

Points to money (Points Rummy)

In Points Rummy each point has a fixed rupee value set by the table. Example: at ₹1 per point, a loser with 30 points pays ₹30 to the winner, before the app’s fee. See rummy variations.
