Besides classic Teen Patti, most tables and apps offer variations that change which cards are wild or which hand wins. Rules differ between apps, so use this as a guide and confirm in the app’s help section. If you don’t know the base game yet, read the Teen Patti rules and hand rankings first.
Joker
One or more cards are chosen as jokers and can stand in for any card. A joker makes strong hands such as Trails and Pure Sequences much more common, so hand strength rises across the table.
Muflis (Lowball)
The ranking is reversed: the lowest hand wins. The best Muflis hand is typically A-2-4 of mixed suits, and Trails and sequences are bad hands rather than good ones. Rules about whether A-2-3 counts as low vary by app.
AK47
Aces, kings, fours and sevens are treated as jokers. Because sixteen cards in the deck act as wild, strong hands appear very often and betting gets aggressive quickly.
Best of Four
Each player is dealt four cards and makes the best three-card hand from them. This improves everyone’s average hand and rewards players who count their options carefully.
Which variation should a beginner start with?
Classic Teen Patti first. The fewer wild cards in the game, the easier it is to read what opponents might hold. Move to Joker-style games once the hand rankings feel automatic.

Frequently asked questions
What is Muflis in Teen Patti?
Muflis is a lowball variation where the lowest-ranking hand wins instead of the highest. Trails and sequences become bad hands.
What is AK47 Teen Patti?
A Teen Patti variation in which aces, kings, fours and sevens act as jokers (wild cards), so strong hands appear more often.
What is the difference between Joker and normal Teen Patti?
In Joker games, designated cards can replace any card, which makes high hands like Trails much more common than in classic Teen Patti.
Do all apps use the same variation rules?
No. Wild cards, tie-breaks and low-hand rules differ between apps, so read the table rules before you play.
